Not on the meal planning train yet? It can be exhausting the first couple times you try it. I get it. But as with everything there’s a learning curve to master before you really see the benefits. So what might those benefits be? What could be so good that it’s worth spending up to an hour just making a shopping list!?!? I’m glad you asked.
Save Moolah
Perhaps the most common reason people begin meal planning is to reign in the amount of money spent at the grocery store. Or worse yet, on takeout. By planning what you need to make a complete meal you won’t find yourself running to the grocery store last minute and picking up 3 extra things you didn’t need. Plus having a plan means you won’t be tempted to just order a pizza and calling it a day. Or rather… you’ll be less tempted.
Save Time
The one thing we can’t get back once it’s wasted right? Knowing what you need to prep or avoiding extra grocery store trips saves you time throughout the week. Definitely enough to make up for the time spent putting together your meal plan at the beginning of the week or month or however long you want to plan.
Save Energy
Who doesn’t need to conserve their energy by dinnertime? And I’m not even talking about the physical energy. Think of the mental energy you could be saving! Did you know there’s a certain number of decisions a person has the mental capacity to make in a day before all decisions become “I don’t care, whatever you want.” That’s how you end up with takeout for dinner… AGAIN.
Health
Sometimes meal planning is simply to eat better food. Or to follow a specific kind of diet. Even if you aren’t planning with the intention of planning healthy meals chances are you’ll be eating less processed food or restaurant dishes. Home cooked food is just generally the healthier option.
Who want’s to save money, time, energy AND be healthier with one change? You? Was it you? Fabulous. Figure out how to get started here.
